finally into classroom and freebie

Wowzas... As exciting as it is to get a brand new school, it is stressful for teachers as we were not allowed into our rooms until two weeks before workshops for limited hours a few days each week to unpack all of our boxes (some teachers had almost 100, I had about 50) and set up our new classroom.  I felt at ease as my room is much smaller and I have less to unpack:)  Here is a pic of my teaching area in my new room... I am pretty excited to be out of the "closet" I was in!! Well, okay it wasn't really a closet and it was bout 20x14 but it was old and not temperature controlled. This winter was horrible with the heat exchange it was barely 50 degrees a few mornings when we got to work and took a few hours to warm up to a brisk 64... My kiddos would wear their coats and we would huddle together and move a lot to stay warm.  Probably my favorite part of my new room is individual temp control in each room... I am soooooo excited to not freeze:)
Also, I have created a project on Donor's Choose to get some ink cartridges to print some of the centers I have been creating.  It went live today:)  I am pretty excited about it since our school is monitoring color printing so closely... Hopefully it will be successful.  For the first 7 days that it is live, the company will match any donations up to $100:)

So, as back to school time, I am going to offer up one entire center for my weekly freebie in the back to school theme for the Freebie Friday and Manic Monday linkup:)

Back to School Sale & Freebie

Wowzas... Yeppers, it is that time of year again... Not sure how I am feeling about it... I love back to school time and the excitement of it but I dread a few things too...
*The kiddos excitement of being back to school and seeing their friends.
*Adult contact time for me:)
*Some of my kiddos do not look forward to summer because of the stressors at home so knowing that they are safe for at least 8 hours a day again makes my heart happy.
*getting back into a routine.
*Fall TV premiers
*going into a BRAND NEW building with a new classroom!
Struggle with:
*leaving my babes when I have spent soooo much time with them over the last 13 weeks.
*having to get up to an alarm clock.  The littles have been sleeping until 8:30-9:00 so we have been sleeping late, cuddilng and waking up whenever we want... The few times this year we had to get up for a reason, the moaning and groaning was moaned by all....
*no more having nothing to do for entire days at a time.
*no more having beach days and spending endless amounts of time outside and just playing.
*having to remember what day of the week it is, not more having to literally refer to the calendar
*The end of summer trips (we had several long weekends and cabin trips)
I created a back to school pack and in the Math & Literacy Pack there is a math game in the preview:)  Check it out for a FREEBIE!!!!

Way Cool Shout Out & August SALE!!!

Wow, I cannot believe how fast this summer has gone. I say that EVERY single year but it never changes. Maybe because the littles are bigger this year so we can enjoy so much more and have stayed busy... Maybe because they know what it means for me to go back to work and it makes them sad as they have become very attached again... Maybe because we are headed into a new building and haven't been allowed in our new classrooms until 2 weeks from now... I am not sure but it sure flew by! To make the beginning of August a bit easier, I am having a sale on ALL of my bulk centers on TPT from Friday-Monday... 20% off every math or literacy center:)   Check it out here!!!
Teach Junkie
A Shout Out to Leslie over at Teach Junkie for putting together so many freebies.  Users can upload their freebies and they stay in a 'file cabinet' but she also puts them in different places that make it very user friendly.  Anyways, I was looking through last week's Freebie Friday post and Leslie had linked up with a new collection, 65 Printable Math Games.

This goodie was one of the 65 Amazing games printed.  Click on it to go to the Teach Junkie Page for LOTS and LOTS of FREEBIES:)  I couldn't believe that 6 out of the 12 pictures posted on the first page were mine... Yes, 6 of them:)  Yay!!!

I did quite a bit of creating this summer but have taken a few weeks break. I am thinking about my next unit and am not totally sure what I want it to be:)  Suggestions??? I am thinking fairy tale, legos (something for the boys:) or that with Seuss clipart or maybe Mario/Luigi clipart???  Any ideas or ones that you think would be more fun???

In the mean time, I have a FREEBIE for ya'll.  I have done freebies a variety of ways... sometimes just a direct link to a freebie on TPT, sometimes a freebie within a preview that is just a recording sheet at the end of a center that can be used solo, and sometimes a freebie center within a preview. This week I wanted to make sure it was an entire center, so I am including a freebie within a preview for you all to grab. It is called
One Cool Cat CVC Spin.
Spin each spinner 1 time

Put the beginning and ending together and read word

Record the word you read on the Real or Silly Recording sheet.

Click on the picture below to go to the Cool Cat Math & Literacy product on TPT. If you download the PREVIEW, this freebie is in there:)
